The Israeli Film Festival continues Sunday, April 22 with the 11 a.m. screening of Antenna, a family drama about how an aging Holocaust survivor’s sudden paranoia over his neighbour’s cellular antenna creates a family crisis that reveals the personal problems of each of his three sons. Following an Israeli-style lunch there will be a 1:45 p.m. screening of The Field, a documentary that tells the compelling story of Palestinian Abu Awwad, who seeks to move beyond personal tragedy by reaching out to Israeli settlers in a grassroots effort to advance reconciliation through peaceful conversation, activities, and cooperation in addressing the fears and needs of both communities. The film will be followed by a live video Q & A session with Ali Abu Awwad, Hanan Schlesinger and film director Mordechai Vardi on their work bringing Israelis and Palestinians together.
