High Holidays 5783

High Holidays 5783

We are delighted to announce that our services will be led by Rabbi David Russo, Cantor Benjamin Z. Maissner, Brian Albert, and Harvey Bitterman with special contributions from our congregation.

The High Holiday services this year will be free of charge but will require official registration for security and administrative purposes. We encourage all of you to attend in-person and to bring your loved ones to celebrate the holidays with us. You do not have to be a member to attend services. We will not be assigning seats at the venue, please be mindful of this when planning your arrival and of the people around you once at services.

We know that some of you may be attending our services alone or may be new to town. This can be an intimidating process and we’d like to make it as welcoming and easy as possible. As a community we have many members who would be delighted to accompany you and help make your holiday experience warmer. We are also aware that some of you may require transportation to the Ancaster Memorial Arts Centre. If there is a way that we can make your attendance more welcoming and accessible, we would be happy to do so. Please email Hanna Schayer at hanna@bethjacobsynagogue.ca to request a service greeter or transportation. If you are a member who is interested in volunteering for either of these roles, please contact Hanna Schayer.

Those interested in making donations to the Synagogue to mark the High Holiday may do so by contacting Craig Starr at bookkeeper@bethjacobsynagogue.ca or through our website. Donations will be greatly appreciated to help our congregation achieve its goal of being self-sustaining, but such donations are not required to attend services. If you are interested in dedicating a Machzor in honour or memory of a loved one, please contact the office at office@bethjacobsynagogue.ca or by phone at 905-522-1351.

Questions about the services or registration may be directed to office staff, Tal-Or Ben-Choreen or Maureen Price. They can be reached at talor@bethjacobsynagogue.ca and maureen@bethjacobsynaoguge.ca.
