To promote the understanding and respect for the history of the Jewish community in Hamilton Ontario, with special attention to Beth Jacob Synagogue and its members, past and present. We achieve our goals through research, stewardship of collections, and public outreach. We strive to preserve oral histories and traditions for our next generations to explore.
To maintain a space that preserves and celebrates the diverse cultural heritage of the Jewish people in Hamilton and to build a more knowledgeable, creative, and engaged community.
The museum was established as a legacy project marking Beth Jacob’s 125th anniversary in 2013. The former small chapel became the multi-purpose museum space with the goal of hosting rotating exhibits and social events. To see our virtual exhibits click here: http://rosensheinmuseum.webs.com.
